Manipulating Image Settings
Image Settings
Each tray item has its own gradient settings. The settings for the selected tray item are display in the panel to the right of the document window. Settings include the gradient type, starting and finishing colors for the gradient, color saturation of the source image and data specific to each gradient type.
Any changes to the image settings is reflected immediately in the Preview Image.
Gradient Types
Ombre provides four gradient types to choose from: Radial, Gaussian, Linear and Smooth Linear. Radial and Gaussian gradients emanate from a single point on your image. Linear and Smooth Linear gradients change color over the path defined by the location of the start and finish points.
Image Saturation
Adjusting the saturation slider allows users to remove all or part of the color from the original image before a gradient is composited. In some circumstances, desaturating an image may produce a more aesthetically-pleasing gradient effect.
Radial Gradient Center Point
Radial gradient types ( e.g., Radial and Gaussian) overlay the source image and emanate from a central point. The Center Point control displays a set of crosshairs positioned on the source. Users move the crosshairs to change the gradient center. The gradient size is determined by the radius attributes displayed below the Center Point control.
Linear Gradient Start and Finish Points
Linear gradient types (e.g., Linear and Smooth Linear) overlay the source image and transition from start to finish color along a line connecting the start and finish points. The Linear Points control displays two crosshair icons (one black, one white). User move either control to affect change on the gradients physical position.
Using Lift and Stamp
The Lift and Stamp Settings 2-segment buttons on the toolbar allow you to copy and paste settings from one Tray item to one-or-more other Tray items. The Lift Settings button copies the settings for the select Tray item into a global pasteboard. The Stamp Settings button applies the settings currently stored in the global pasteboard into the selected Tray items.
